About
Our Company
We were established as
a corporation in July of 1999. We received our state contractor's license
(C27-771583) in November of 1999 and began operations as Maximum Service Landscaping,
Inc. on January 1, 2000. Our beginnings, however, go back much further than
that.
Kevin Burns first became interested in Landscape Contracting in 1978 when
he attended City College of San Francisco and majored in Ornamental Horticulture.
Mr. Burns was awarded the Alice Eastwood Scholarship Award from the San Francisco Garden Club in 1981 and has gone on to apprentice with many landscape contractors in the San Francisco Bay Area. He worked with Bill Shaw of Landscape Design in San Francisco and Randy Fenton of Sundance Landscaping in Oakland before coming to work in 1988 with Ken Coverdell of Blue Sky Designs in Half Moon Bay. Mr. Burns worked at Blue Sky Designs for 12 years as a landscape crew supervisor. It was during his tenure at Blue Sky Designs that he gained much of the knowledge and skill that he brings to Maximum Service Landscaping today. He became a Certified Landscape Technician in October 1991 and later became a member of California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA).
We applied for CLCA membership as soon as Kevin passed the contractors exam. We received an Achievement Award for Large Residential Maintenance and First Place Award for Small Residential Construction at the chapter level our first year. Our second year brought two more awards at chapter level: an Achievement Award for Residential Estates, a First Place Award for Large Residential Maintenance and our first State Level achievement with the Humanitarian Award for Einstein's Café in San Francisco. This seeming overnight success has actually been a long time coming. Kevin Burns began working side jobs maintaining gardens on weekends and after work on summer evenings back in 1994 operating as a sole proprietor. Adding clients as time went on, the company grew to more than a part time job and it became evident that the time had come to go out on his own and Maximum Service Landscaping, Inc. was born.
Today, Maximum Service Landscaping, Inc. employs full time crews and provides a full range of landscape services including design, construction, renovation and maintenance for residential as well as commercial properties. Through determined effort and a dedication to service, our purpose is to fit ourselves to be maximum service of to our customers!
